The maroon stars were used from 1965-1971. The blue stars were used from 1971-1988. After 1988 only silver and gold stars were authorized. One Silver star for 25 years. Two Silver stars for 30 years. One Gold star for 35 years. Two Gold stars for 40 years. Three gold stars for 45 years. Four Gold stars for 50 years.
